These pictures are from two weeks ago. I didn't show them sooner because I don't like the jacket with this dress nor the way it looks on me. I don't know what I was thinking when I made the dress to go with the jacket. But it is what it is. I wasn't thinking about the neckline differences. Oh well, I will have to make something else for both of these. The jacket is McCall's (sorry I don't have the number handy) and the dress is Butterick 5147 in silk dupioni. Funny thing, I wore this to church anyway and got compliments. Go figure.

The jacket looke very good, but might look even better with longer sleeves. You really make that color look good.

You got compliments because it's a great outfit and others are never as critical as we are of ourselves, love the fabrics.

I think the necklines are more of a happy accident than a mismatch. I know it wasn't what you were going for, but it looks like it was deliberate. It's no surprise that you got compliments when you wore it.

I actually like the two necklines together. It is an interesting combination.

Thanks for all the compliments!

What is bothering you about those necklines together? They don't have to be the same to look good together. And I think this combination is particularly nice, it kind of makes your dress neckline look like jewelry.

Thanks Marie, that's a great idea.
