I have received several sewing related requests just in the past month! And believe it or not, I'm thinking about taking on the projects. One is a wedding! I haven't officially accepted because I really am not sure I want to be involved with the fabric choices, fittings and all that goes with this type of sewing project. The other requests seem fairly simple. I will keep you posted on what I decide.
But last week, my daughters and I went to a fashion show at a Chicago high school, Whitney Young. None of my pictures came out :( But I have to say that the students who participated presented beautiful outfits! The fit was excellent from our vantage. (We were all the way in the top row!) Not all items would I consider wearing but there were lots of pieces that could be worn by the average person. They used imagination to design garments from items other than fabric! It was a very nice show and I'm glad to see so many young people participating in sewing!

There was a similar fashion show at the Univ. Of TN recently. I didn't go but I saw the picts in the paper. It was a green fashion show. They were allowed to use regular fabric, but it had to be re-used. I misss project runway!!!

I love going to student fashions shows. I never missed it when I was in law school at Univ of Texas. I was pretty jealous that they were sewing while I was studying.
